United Way Web Site Redesign and Content Management

The United Way of Forsyth County North Carolina leads in uniting the community to bring together resources to identify and effectively address the community's most vital human needs. This mission is accomplished by mobilizing the community to effectively address vital human needs, realizing a high level of community support, and helping to make Winston-Salem and Forsyth County an exceptional place to live and work.

Challenge

The United Way of Forsyth County needed a technology partner to design and develop a new Web site solution to replace the existing. It was necessary to create an easy resource for users to find United Way content. Additionally, it was critical for the site to be easily maintained and updated internally within United Way providing first time and returning clients the most up to date information available regarding current events, activities and Newsletters. Project objectives included:

• To allow in-house maintenance with ability to add, change and update all information on an "as needed" basis. 
• To convey a visual sense of community via a Web site design that is visually appealing, non-confusing and people-centric.

Solution

Stratapult developed the Web site and used a proprietary custom developed tool, PILOT to allow the United Way to efficiently manage their Web site content.  PILOT provides United Way with an intuitive interface guide for administrative changes and updates, keeping visitors to the Web site enlightened with the most up to date information available.

The PILOT platform and Web site is hosted by Stratapult.  PILOT utilizes SQL Server for its Database on the back-end.

Impact

The United Way of Forsyth County now has a more up to date and intuitive Web site that allows them to communicate in a more efficient manner with existing and perspective clients, recipients of United Way funds and other visitors to the site.  The United Way of Forsyth County is no longer dependent on one person within the office making all of the content updates.  Because PILOT is an easy to use solution, multiple United Way personnel can update content.
